How digital is filmmaking today?

Ok, I found the chart last night...it's in the April 2005 print issue of "Wired." The chart is related to a story called "The Cuban Revolution" by Xeni Jardin about Mark Cuban, "the maverick billionaire blogger" who "wants to take the film out of the of the film industry." It's mainly about the future of the industry, but these kind of changes obviously have a major impact on institutions which keep records and objects from the past...like archives, who need film and videotape suppliers to keep their preservation efforts in business, until digital video preservation standards are fully worked out, and it becomes scalable (affordable).
